My Professional background
Over the last 20 years I have worked internationally as an educator, from the UK to the USA and Hong Kong. I have dedicated my career to empowering people to help them navigate life’s challenges.
The journey began in the classroom, where I discovered my passion for supporting students and their families to help build stronger, more connected relationships with themselves as well as with one another.
Outside of the education system, I trained in a two-year programme of Therapeutic Coaching. This certification allows me to work with individual adults through various processes, including Neuro-linguistic programming and developmental psychology.
This framework allows me to help people achieve greater self-awareness and enhance emotional well-being, allowing them to uncover their strengths, set meaningful goals, and further the resilience they need to thrive.
I hold a Master's in Education and Mindfulness and am a certified Mindfulness and Compassion teacher. Integrating this into my coaching has enabled me to help individuals cultivate greater self-awareness and emotional resilience.
Working with Children
As a Social and Emotional Learning Specialist, I work with teachers and train them to foster environments that prioritize students' development of self-awareness and self-management.
I also guide them in the growth of interpersonal skills that are vital for school and life.
Within the school environment, I work one-on-one with children of all ages to help them enhance their social and emotional well-being, and equip them with strategies and practical tools to manage stress and anxiety effectively.
As a certified ADHD Clinical service provider, I can work effectively with neurodiverse students through direct interactions, as well as through the social thinking and executive functioning groups I design and manage.
Working with Parents & Families
Working directly with parents, I provide coaching sessions focused on enhancing communication and listening skills, managing emotions, and developing coping strategies whilst establishing achievable parenting goals. We address challenging behaviour through positive reinforcement and practical guidance, while also helping build trust and connection in the parent-child relationship.
These sessions emphasise the importance of self-care for parents, turning challenges into opportunities for growth, and promoting a nurturing home environment, helping create a positive family dynamic.
I facilitate parent support groups, in which we offer emotional guidance and practical skills to adults facing the challenges of parenthood. This guided group exchange of experience allows parents to feel more supported and less isolated, which then assists them in strengthening connections and interfamily dynamics to support their children’s emotional growth and development.
